Start 09:51am, 22c, l. wind, clear. At "Nuevo Cheo Hotel" in Villa Regina, at road 2 to Neuquen. Finish 13:54pm, 28c, clear and no wind. At green rds. "Gral. Roca 17km" on road 2 to Neuquen.

General Roca ?

- You may wonder about some of the village & city names in this region: General Roca, Ingeiniero L. A. Huergo, Padre Stefanelli etc.

The Rio Negro region used to be of strategic importance back when inland Argentina was settled by europeans. As well as beeing important to opening up trade & supplies in Western direction. Many of the names are of the cities founders or the persons leading the "advance" into areas previously settled by natives.

The point of my monthly restday, Neuquen city, still holds its indigious name though :-)
